Overview:
|
In this tutorial we provide an overview of
information theoretic limits of MIMO systems under realistic assumptions for
time-varying channels. We consider multiple definitions of capacity (i.e.
ergodic and outage capacity) and many channel fading models (i.e. antenna
correlation). We begin with a comprehensive summary of capacity results for
single user MIMO channels under different fading models. We will then review
some results in the areas of diversity, space time coding and transmitter
optimization. Next we consider multi-user MIMO systems including cellular
systems and Relaying channels ad-hoc networks. We also look into WiMAX
systems as a standard using MIMO system.
